The Hardware Ingestion Dilemma
Every major camera manufacturer—from DJI, GoPro, Sony, to Teradek and mobile broadcasting apps—includes built-in hardware encoders for **RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol)**. RTMP is lightweight, efficient, and universally supported across hardware chips.
However, legacy RTMP playback over TCP can suffer from packet buffering. CastZero bridges the gap by receiving RTMP video packets locally and instantly remuxing them into **WebRTC UDP frames** for sub-50ms playback in OBS Studio.
